Bilingual Customer Service Representative (English and Cantonese)

Location: Oakland, CA
Work Schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 5:45 p.m. (45-minute lunch) or 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
Compensation: $25.00/hr

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Bilingual Customer Service Representative fluent in both Cantonese and English to join a dynamic healthcare setting in Oakland, CA. This onsite contract/temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your customer service skills and gain experience in pharmacy operations within a professional environment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience, proficiency in Cantonese and English, and a strong aptitude for technical and financial tasks related to medication and insurance processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with inquiries
• Administer customer prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Verify insurance details and process payment authorizations
• Handle cash register transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
• Support overall pharmacy operations as needed

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or retail environment
• Proven cash-handling skills with experience operating a cash register (experience strongly preferred)
• Fluent in both Cantonese and English (speaking proficiency required)
• Comfortable working with computers and pharmacy systems
• Ability to maintain attention to detail and multitask effectively

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or drugstore setting
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
